This Privacy Policy explains how Moodsmith Ltd (company no. NI649617) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when you use our Teachable-hosted course platform at learn.mytherapist.ie (the “Platform”).
Moodsmith Ltd trades as MyTherapist.ie and Dr Elaine Ryan.
This policy applies to the Platform only. If you also use our main website mytherapist.ie, a separate privacy policy may apply there.

The Platform provides psychoeducational self-help courses and resources. It is not a clinical service.
Please do not submit sensitive clinical information through Platform messaging or support emails (e.g., medical history, diagnoses, details of self-harm, or crisis information). If you need urgent help, contact local emergency/urgent services. - What personal data we collect
A) Information you provide
When you create an account or purchase a course, we (and/or Teachable on our behalf) collect:
• Name
• Email address
• Account login details (managed via Teachable)
• Purchase information (e.g., course purchased, transaction status, receipts/invoices)
• Any information you choose to send to us in customer support communications (see Help Scout below)
B) Information collected automatically
When you use the Platform, the Platform and its providers may collect:
• Device and browser information (e.g., IP address, device type, browser type)
• Log data (e.g., access times, pages viewed, actions taken)
• Usage information (e.g., course progress, videos/pages accessed)
• Cookies or similar technologies used by Teachable and related tools (see Teachable policies for cookie details)
C) Payment information
Payments are processed through Teachable and its payment providers. We do not receive or store full payment card details. We generally receive confirmation details such as purchaser name, email, product purchased, amount, currency, payment status, and receipt/invoice information.
- How we use your data (purposes)
We use personal data to:
• create and manage your Platform account
• provide access to purchased courses and resources
• process purchases, provide receipts, and manage refunds where applicable
• provide customer support and respond to enquiries
• maintain the security and integrity of the Platform (fraud prevention, troubleshooting, auditing)
• communicate important service messages (e.g., access issues, transactional emails)
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
We do not sell your personal data.

We share personal data only as necessary to run the Platform and provide services, including with:
A) Teachable (platform hosting and checkout)
The Platform is hosted on Teachable. Teachable processes personal data to provide:
• account registration/login
• checkout and payment processing
• course delivery and access management
• platform emails and technical operations
Teachable processes your data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy & Terms, which are linked during checkout and within the Platform.
B) Help Scout (customer support)
We use Help Scout to manage customer support. If you contact us, your name, email address, message content, and our correspondence may be processed and stored in Help Scout so we can respond and keep support records.
C) Payment providers used by Teachable
Teachable uses payment processors to take payments. Those providers process payment data in accordance with their own terms/policies. We do not receive full card details.
D) Other service providers
Teachable and/or we may use reputable service providers for:
• hosting and infrastructure
• security and fraud prevention
• email delivery
• analytics and performance monitoring
Where we use service providers, they act under contractual obligations to protect personal data.
- International data transfers
Teachable and Help Scout may process personal data on servers located outside Ireland/UK/EEA (including the United States). Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms). - How long we keep your data (retention)
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including:
• while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to manage access, support, and records
• as required for accounting/tax/legal obligations (e.g., transaction records)
• for security and fraud prevention purposes as needed
Support communications may be retained for a period necessary to handle your request and maintain a reasonable support history.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and keep login details confidential. - Children
The Platform and courses are intended for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account or provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. - Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the “Last updated” date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
